As a professional counselor and former journalist, I have a passion for people’s stories. Offering knowledge, encouragement and perspective from the experiences of my own life is something I feel called by God to do. I cannot change the entire world, but if I can do one thing – something – to help those around me then I believe I have fulfilled my purpose.
My hope for “This Side of the Creek” is that you, the readers, may enjoy learning about ways to care for your mental health while sharing your own thoughts and stories.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Communications/Public Relations and Psychology from Wilmington College and a Master of Education in Counseling and Human Development from Lindsey Wilson College. I worked in private practice from 2011 until 2015 when I took a position as primary therapist for an eating disorder treatment center. In 2018 I opened my own counseling group practice, Creekside Therapy Center, LLC where I specialize in treating eating and anxiety disorders.

Thanks Josh! Means a lot. I’m just doing what I love and loving what I do, while working toward more things I’ll love to do in the future.
Thanks for taking the time to read.
